Throughout the season, our sportfishing charter boat, Akula, targets Mackerel, Flounder, Striped Bass, Bluefish, Cod, Haddock, Pollock, Wolfish, Redfish, Mako, Thresher and Porbeagle sharks, but most of all TUNA! Captains Fred and Chris eat, sleep, and breathe tuna! Their proven track record of consistent success tuna fishing speaks for itself. When the tuna bite is on, you can believe that Akula is there. Whether its furious light tackle top water action or heavy gear for record breaking giants - Akula is one of the top producers. The Stellwagen Bank fishing grounds off the coast of Massachusetts are some of the most fertile fishing waters there are. Running our vessel out of Green Harbor Marina allows us easy access to this fishery, and we want to be your charter fishing partner of choice in the Massachusetts area.

 

TYPES OF CHARTERS FISHING WE SPECIALIZE IN

 

SHARK FISHING CHARTERS

Massachusetts waters are known to hold large numbers of sharks. In recent years sharks breaking the 1,200 lb. mark have been caught in these waters. We have a great deal of expertise on how to make your charter fishing adventure one you will remember for years to come.

The most abundant species to our area are, Blue Sharks, Mako Sharks, Thresher Sharks, and Porbeagle sharks. During our charter fishing trips, multiple catches in one day is the norm, and it is common to have dozens of sharks circling the boat in our chum slick.

 

STRIPED BASS & BLUEFISH CHARTER FISHING

If bluefish and bass are your target, you've got it. Our striped bass trips bring us to the rips off Race Point, Billingsgate Shoals, and many other lesser known spots off of coastal Massachusetts.

Once we arrive on the spot, we employ a few different styles of fishing - light tackle casting to surface feeding frenzies and dropping jigs to cow stripers is about as fun as it gets. When live bait is available, you can bet that nothing will get a bass eating like a tasty lollipop mackerel.

 

COD & HADDOCK CHARTER FISHING TRIPS

The Crimson Tide Fishing Charter vessel, Akula, fishes the plentiful fishing grounds of Stellwagen Bank and beyond for this excellent table fare. This area, off the coast of Massachusetts (north of Cape Cod), is a feeding and breeding ground for Cod, Haddock, Pollock and more, making it a fishery second to none. Typical bottom fishing trips are approximately 10 hours in length, but if the fish are biting, who knows, we want you to fill the box so that you want to come back to us, as your charter fishing destination of choice.

Along with the normal catch of Cod and Haddock, Wolf fish, Redfish, Cusk, Pollock and Hake are often caught as well. Once you and your group fill the fish boxes, our mate will fillet and package your catch for your ride home. Aboard our fishing charters, we want you to leave happy, and come back to Green Harbor, Massachusetts again to fish with us.

 

BLUEFIN TUNA CHARTER FISHING TRIPS

Tuna Fishing Charters in the waters off the Massachusetts coast are our passsion and a fishery we take great pride in. Nothing gets your heart pumping like seeing a massive bluefin tuna explode on your bait, and then hearing the line screaming off your reel...FISH ON!! Bluefin Tuna fishing is, hands down, the most exciting, adrenaline-filled, fishing there is. You don't just reel a bluefin in - you get strapped in and the fight is on! Tuna fishing is all about knowing where the fish are on any given day. This is where Akula excels! Countless days spent on the water & our close ties to other top tuna fishing boats give us an edge over the other private and charter fishing boats, when we target these highly sought after beasts and that are pursuing them. Giant Bluefin Tuna are also lurking in these coastal Massachusetts waters, providing our charter fishing clients the opportunity to hook into and fight the fish of a lifetime.

Whether it's casting at top water feeding tuna with spinning gear, trolling our super productive lures, or fishing with live bait for that explosive strike, seeing that first color and boating every fish is just as exciting as the first one we ever caught.

 

CANYON CHARTER FISHING TRIPS

These far offshore charter fishing trips are not for the inexperienced, nor for the faint of heart. Canyon fishing trips are only scheduled around perfect weather windows and take us 80-120 miles offshore to the pristine tropical waters of the Gulf Stream. Fishing the canyons is just like fishing the deep blue Caribbean waters - in fact it almost feels and smells like you are in distant tropical seas.

In the offshore canyons our charter fishing vessel, Akula, targets Mahi-Mahi, White Marlin, Blue Marlin, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, and the "gladiator of the deep" - the Swordfish. These fishing trips are usually scheduled on short notice, so if you would like to get in on one of these trips be sure to put your request in early in the season.

• Full Day Shared Charters: $200 per person
• Full Day cod/haddock: $1,200
• Full Day tuna/shark: $1,200
• Full Day bass/blues: $1,100
• 8 Hour bottom fishing or tuna: $1,000
• Marathon length trips (12 hours): $1,400
• Half Day any trip/whale watch: $650
